The Cathedral of Amos has a unique
round shape and a distinctive Romanesque-Byzantine dome.
Constructed in 1922 by the Montreal
architect Beaugrand-Champagne, the church was dedicated to St. Teresa of
Avila. It would later become a cathedral in 1939 with the erection of the
Amos diocese.
In the interior of the cathedral,
mosaics and marbles are of Italian origin, and its canopies were made in
France. This superb artwork truly allows worshippers to pray and meditate.
